International ICT and BPO conference and B2B meetings in Uganda

The International ICT and BPO conference was held in Kampala, Uganda during 30th September to 1st October, 2015. The conference was organized by Uganda ICT Association. M Rashidul Hasan, Vice President of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) attended the conference in response to the invitation from UN International Trade Centre (ITC). Apart from that he also headed the B2B meetings separately held in Uganda and Kenya. 
M Rashidul Hasan discussed the developments in Bangladesh IT industry in the conference. He talked about regular programs and activities of BASIS and how they assist their member companies in capacity building and creating new entrepreneurs. Uganda companies conveyed their interest to work with BASIS at the conference. They expressed their interest to partake in BASIS SoftExpo and sign MoU with BASIS during their visit.
Five BASIS member companies engaged in B2B meetings with Uganda ICT Association as a part of the conference. The participant member companies are: Systech Digital Limited, Multimedia Content and Communication (MCC) Limited, DataSoft Systems (BD) Limited, Service Engine and Structured Data Systems Limited (SDSL).
Similarly on 29th September, 2015 the member companies took part in B2B meetings with Kenya IT and Outsourcing Service (KITOS) members held in Nairobi, Kenya. Each of the BASIS member companies had more than 12 meetings with the Kenyan companies.
According to M Rashidul Hasan, IT industry of Uganda & Kenya is getting developed progressively and there is a huge possibility for Bangladeshi IT companies to work in their SME and Government projects. BASIS has invited them to participate in BASIS SoftExpo to be held next year. Few companies in Uganda & Kenya have showed interest in participating in BASIS SoftExpo and have assured to finalize Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BASIS.
