Bangladesh Single Country Trade Exhibition 2013 at Yangon, Myanmar

Bangladesh Single Country Trade Exhibition 2013 held on last 6 – 8 March, 2013 at Yangon, Myanmar where 33 export oriented company participated among those 3 where IT companies. The companies participated in the exhibition with support of Bangladesh Embassy in Myanmar and Bangladesh-Myanmar Association. A 18 member delegation team were formed to remove trade barrier, diversification and expansion in Myanmar market. 6 member of the team visited the trade exhibition under the leadership of Mr. Golam Mohammad Kader, Minister, Ministry of Commerce. The members were – Mr. Subhasis Bose, Vice-Chairman, Export Promotion bureau; Mr. Md. Atikur Rahman Khan, Joint-Secretary (Export), Ministry of Commerce; Mr. Shahadat Hossain, Director, ETTLMEA; Mr. Nazmul Khan Alok, MD, Twister Media Technology, BD Pvt. Ltd. And representative of BASIS; Engr. Mahbubur Rahman Kazi, President, representative of Efficient Lighting Manufactures Association; Engr. Utpal Kumar Das, General Secretary, Bangladesh Dye & Mold Producers Association.

On the second day of the exhibition a seminar was organized where presentation was made to promote 3 potential trade sectors of Bangladesh – a) Information Technology b) Pharmaceuticals and c) Ceramic Industry. Mr. Nazmul Khan presented on “Bangladesh Next, Next IT Destination, Why Next” and “Lets get a snap shot of the Industry” with the help of BASIS in front Government high officials and business delegates during the exhibition. At the end of the presentation he met queries of the audience about Bangladesh IT sector. He was hopeful that with the changing scenario of Myanmar it has huge potential for investment as IT market of Myanmar is untapped. IT based companies of Bangladesh have good opportunity to expand their business there. He also added that Bangladesh-Myanmar bi-lateral trade relation will bring excellent results.
